Biomechanics

Assessment & investigation

Assessment and investigation into lower limb function.
A biomechanical assessment is very beneficial if you are experiencing pain in your feet or lower limbs, if no cause has been established.

During consultation with our Podiatrists, a biomechanical assessment is carried out involving examination and manipulation of the lower limbs.  Assessment is aimed to focus on the structure and alignment of the body, to identify strengths and weakness of the foot; involving the pelvis, legs, knees and ankles resulting in pain symptoms.

Following assessment the Podiatrist will make recommendations for treatment options depending on assessment results and diagnosis, if the Podiatrist believes that mechanical problems could be contributing to your pain or injury then insoles or orthotics may be prescribed.
Orthotics
Orthotics are supportive insoles worn in everyday footwear to redistribute pressure and reduce the amount of pronation in your feet in order to help reduce the stresses in your feet, ankles, knees, hips and spine which can lead to aches and pains.
